Here are the questions we get most often.

Q. Is waxing better than shaving?

A.    Yes. With waxing, the entire hair shaft is removed – root and all. Shaving merely cuts the hair off at the surface of the skin. Your skin will be extra smooth and you won’t have annoying stubble. Facial waxing and body waxing also lasts much longer than shaving and – with repeated waxes – the hair will grow back thinner and finer.

Q. How long does waxing last?

A.    The answer is different for each person because the rate of hair growth is unique. Another factor is that hair grows back more rapidly in certain areas of the body. Finally, your hair goes through growth cycles so it’s important that all your hair is grown out before you get it waxed. Otherwise, the hair that was too short to be removed will grow in within a few days. In general, you can expect your wax job to last from 3 to 7 weeks.

Q. How long should hair be before waxing?

A.    The optimum length is about half an inch. 

Q. Does waxing cause skin irritation?

A.    Yes. But don’t panic. If your hair is very fine, you will likely have some redness and tenderness, similar to that of a sunburn. It will only last for a couple hours. If your hair is coarse, you may have some red bumps and redness for a day or two. 

Q. Does waxing hurt?

A.    Yes. Everyone has a different pain tolerance, so the level of discomfort will vary from person to person. Keeping up a consistent waxing routine will eventually result in a decrease in pain.
